Chicken and Beer Festival in Daegu!

Chicken and Beer Festival will be held in Daegu, Korea from july 18^th to 21^st! ‘Chi Maek’ is shortened for ‘chicken and maek ju (it means beer in korea)’. This is the first festival that has theme of chicken and beer in korea. Many netizens indicate their delight hearing the news that large scale chi maek festival will be held. Bbq, Kyochon, Kfc Nye nye Chicken, Bhc Chicken, Toreore, Gub-nye Chicken, Pelicana, Two two, Hosigi Chicken, Ddang ddang Chicken, Mexicana chicken will be participated in it. From among these, Hosigi Chicken, Ddang ddang Chicken were launched in Daegu, also sponsor this festival.

Why Daegu?

Originally, Daegu is famous for chicken because there are many chicken farms in there for a long time. So major chicken franchise brands were launched in Daegu such as ‘Maxicana, Hosigi dumari chicken, Ddang Ddang Chicken and Kyochon Chicken’ So one public servant noticed this regional characteristic, devised a scheme this festival. Tsingtao, China have set up sisterhood relationship for 20 years. Daegu have promise that the component of Chi Maek, Beer would be supplied from Tsingtao. So Tsingtaoo Beer will be major beer in this festival, it  gives tourist fresh experience!

Various Programs

 In festival period, chicken dish cooking contest and sampling chicken -and- beer ,etc various programs will be progressed. Also Hip Hop & Rock concert which participate famous singers and local traditional cultural performance ‘Bongsan masked dance, Wayfaring male entertainer rope dancing’ , guerrilla concert ‘classic concert and dance concert’ and many events ‘Juggling, magic show, OX quiz show etc.’ are planned. Running grapping beer glass and Fitting together the chicken pieces of the puzzle also deserved to participate in. The youths and children who cannot drink beer also enjoy this festival called ‘Chi Col(chicken + cola)’ There will be special police officer in this festival. Called Breathalyzer test girl takes drunken people to comic prison for avoiding negligent accidents. They can be released when they win some games. It means that they are a little bit drunk.

Goyang International Flower Foundation

Goyang International Flower Foundation is known as representative flower festival in Korea. As a title of ‘The 600 year of Goyang, the flowers of Goyang gave off a fragrance from the world’, it displayed about one million variety flowers. It was held from April 27^th to May 12^th at Goyang city’s Lake park. In 1997, it was held first time and has been held once a three years. Specially, in rare plant exhibit hall Amorphophallus titanium was displayed first time in Korea known as the biggest flower in the world. It takes about 20 or 30 years to bloom. it smells too bad. So it has a nickname ‘corpse flower’. It can be seen only Sumatra I. in Indonesia and big arboretum. As flower duration of this blooms max 7 days, it was displayed as ‘Dry flower’ which means dehydrating inside of flower. Moreover the biggest orchid ‘Tiger Orchid’, big insectivorous plant ‘Nepenthes’ which could prey on bird, ‘Licorice’ which senses an earthquake etc. about 50 rare plants are specially displayed. Also you can see ‘Diamond Tulip’ the new variety in Holland and ‘King Protea’, national flower of South Africa too. There are many experience activities in festival. In floricultural experience hall, to make pressed props, to make own flowerpot, to make hanji craft, to draw picture on pottery ,etc are operated.

It gives great efforts not only on showing to tourists but also economy part of nation. From the date of 30^th, during 4 days the ‘Business Day’ was held participating about one million internal and external authorities. They talked about the way of raising and planting Kalanchoe, trend of circulation market, flower synthesizing certification ,etc. As a result, Korea contracts export contraction. This export result proves major role in floriculture exportation in Korea.

  This festival is over pitful, but Lake Rose Festival will be held from May 31^st to June 9^th at same place. I recommend to go this festival J

 

 

                                 

 

The 17th Muju Firefly Festival

  The 17^th Muju Firefly Festival will be held the title of ‘the light of nature, the light of life, the light of future’ at 6/1~ 6/9. From this year, Muju Firefly Festival’s 26 experience activities and performance programs was abolished which participation ratio is low and does not fit the intents of its purpose. Also by using camping sites like bandi land, national park of Guchundong, it will be showed new programs like ‘Firefly’s Home’ to make tourists feel attractions about this festival and Muju’s nature. In official site of this festival, you can reserve program ‘Catching trout in Namdaecheon stream with bare hands and The mysterious exploration of firefly’.

The features of Muju Firefly Festival

  1.    The only environment theme festival of Korea which focus on national monument. This is eco festival because it is focus on the firefly and its feed(marsh snail) habitat.

  2.    The festival of traditional culture contents stretching.

This is traditional festival that Korean local playings(Nori of Subdari, Bangatguri, Nakhwa and Gijual) are performanced.

3.    The festival of observing firefly at day

We all know that firefly lights his body himself but don’t know his appearance well. But by building experience room, we also find what he is.

What is firefly?

 Firefly is divided into the section 3, head, thorax and abdomen as common insect. it has a pair of antennae, three pairs of legs and two pairs of wings. It is known as environmental indicator animal and motivated emotional insect which make humanbeings have emotional stability. The average lifespan of firefly is 2 weeks and firefly eats dew and marsh snail. The male lights two nodes on his body instead, female lights only one node on her body. Not only adult firefly but also egg, larval and pupal firefly lights.

 why firefly lights his body?

 The female firefly lights their body for finding their mates and male firefly lights when he shares love with his mate. Above this, the light has means to protect themselves and notify danger from others.

2013 Jeon Ju Univ.expo

  Last Thursday, one festival was held in our university. You know what? It’s Univ expo Jeon Ju! Univ. Expo(Jeon Ju) is a festival which college students of all jeonbuk region to participate in. It promotes to participate various university life and Career development instrument. So many booths which provide information about performances beyond one’s university or nation are installed. Moreover it gives the chances to listen lectures and experience various activities ; make up or hair cut so on. To my surprise, all of these thing are planned and promoted by only university students! Univ expo Jeon Ju that is configured to department of planning and management room and chairman, finally supporters is a project a.k.a big and long march to operate by means of college students are planning one by one from the beginning until the end.

  There are major 3 zones which we participate in : lecture zone, events zone, job hunting zone!

1.    Lecture zone

  This zone has one theme which listen our troubles and solve these! Sorrows about not going to go to major universities in Korea. Actually the people who graduate the university which is located in country side experience somewhat disadvantageous job hunting chances. So last Thursday many celebrities visit our festival and gave a lecture about how to join a company which i want to by own my story, The life of editor and know-how about writing, how to seize the moment when be sacrificed by building career and spec so on.

2.    Event zone

  We experience various activities. At that time, there held various experience booths. I introduce shortly top 5.

1)    tarot card/ saju

2)    make-up/ counsel skin problems

3)    art psychotherapy

4)    nail art / face painting

5)    draw a caricature

3.    Job hunting zone

  It is possible to analyze the weaknesses what he has through mock interview and to be counseled about appropriate job interview image making.

Taean Tulip Flower Festival

  Taean is the major city of floricultural industry in Korea.

Actually Taean Tulip Flower Festival was held the name of Taean Lily festival at 2006. From 2006 to 2009 the title of Taean Lily Flower Festival had been held. But from last year, this festival had changed totally! As subject to the seasons, at spring, it is focused on Tulip that will add files serenity spring. At summer, it is focused on the Lily, is holding a dark fragrance to stimulate the nose. Specially at midterm of summer and fall, it is focused on the beautiful colorful light. Lastly At fall, it is focused on dahlia which boasting beautiful shape herself. As mentioned earlier, Taean flower festival is focused on each seasons and in progress. By watching Taean’s beautiful ocean and eating delicious food, you can enjoy Taean! As this season is spring,  i concentrically focus on tulip flower festival.

  From 4. 25 to 5. 12, Taean Tulip Flower Festival having been held. At this year,’ the meeting of bashful love’ is the subject of this festival. There are 200 kinds of tulip, rape flowers, petunia, marigold and totally about 1 million! Basically its place is decorated the theme of Korean traditional tale 'a snapping turtle's story' characters. Also in the vicinity of here, the village is composed of various characters including festival's symbol 'Tuny'!

  In Taean Tulip Flower Festival, maze which is not seen in the others is installed, it is made of many varieties of tulips. This is the appreciation courses to go looking for a way to enjoy the feeling of exotic tulips.

  Besides tulips, greenhouses that grow exotic plants such as clover, poppies garden are in place. Aforementioned in exhibition hall on the many themes including ''a snapping turtle's story' and garden, various events having been open for visitors to experience festival ; Feeding to animals, Making Korean traditional masks etc.

CHUNGJU WORLD MARTIAL ARTS FESTIVAL

  Today i will introduce a few unfamiliar festival .

 Have you ever heard Chungju World Martial Arts Festival?

Actually i did not know this festival before. But collecting information about this festival, i found very interesting things!  UNESCO only to official patronage in the world Chungju World Martial Arts Festival. This is very meaningful. Because our festival achieves recognition the importance of protecting martial arts as a key.

  Chungju World Martial Arts Festival has been held since 1998.

This festival showcases all of the world’s martial arts forms, as well as Korea’s traditional martial arts. This festival opens with the theme 'World's Martial Arts and Culture', showcasing demonstrations of Taekkyeon, Taekwondo, and Hapkido by Korea’s traditional martial arts groups. Martial artists from 37 countries and 45 martial arts organizations in the world have been invited to the festival, and will be taking part in demonstrations and performances. Programs have been prepared for non-Korean speakers and visitors will get a chance to try out many of the martial arts on display.

In major events of this festival takkyeon mass game, bodyguard martial arts of military ect.

  Including watching a lot of showcases, there are many magnificent spectacles. many famous celebrities attend this festival to congratulate open it. Last year Infinite and A-Pink came and sang a song

and you can learn various martial arts, a self-defense martial art, african traditional martial arts ect.

 

   The food, the World Food, fast food restaurants and stores of local will operate. The food accommodation shopping, folk art department regional specialty products department, the world traditional hand-made products department also opened. Based on experience in the tourist experience participation program, martial arts experience, blacksmith relapse, face painting is performed

  After enjoying this festival i recommend other great tourist attractions, Chungjuho Lake.

Chungjuho Lake is a multi-purpose lake made by a river dam. This large lake is very clean and well-preserved. If you go there, you may fell in love that place! i really really recommend ! : )

 

Boryeng Mud Festival

                                                                              

  Do you know Boryeng Mud Festival? This is worldwide festival. including local residents many foreigners also participate and enjoy this! But many people don't know where boryeong is.

where is Boryeong?

  Boryeong is located to west side of our land. Boryeong has a lot of resources and beautiful scenery with mountains and beaches. specially, the western sea the flow of water is weaker and shallower than east sea's , mud flat can be developed easily. and there is one of thermoelectric power stations.

   Boryeong Mud Festival will be held at Daecheon swimming beach, there is a unique shell-powered sandy beach only found in Eastern countries. The beach itself is very beautiful and a great place to go swimming.

In there, you can swim and massage with a mudpack at the same time. Furthermore, there are Mud massage programs (Self massage at the Beach, Ultramodern mud massage) and Mud Experiential Land program using mud powder made through the processing procedure, that is, we gather mud from pure plain and remove all impurities.

  There are many events such as mud wrestling, mud king contest, mud fireworks fantasy and mud sliding. There will also be a photo competition in which past members have come in first place. This is a high profile event. There is a gorgeous beach there as well, which will come in handy as you won’t have any choice but to get muddy. You will be put into a prison until you get some mud on your body. you can also enjoy this festival at night! At night, you can relax or experience some games and watch fireworks with friends at the gorgeous night beach.
